McCORMICK RINGS IN 10TH ANNIVERSARY ON THE NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE; CELEBRATES BEGINNING OF GRILLING SEASON

05/22/2009

SPARKS, MD, MAY 22 - - - McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE:MKC) rings in its 10th anniversary on the New York Stock Exchange today. Founded 120 years ago, McCormick has grown to be a global leader in spice, seasoning, specialty foods and flavors. The Company’s well-known consumer brands reach nearly 100 countries around the world, and its industrial business delivers great taste to multinational food manufacturers and food service customers.

Since listing on the NYSE 10 years ago, the Company has tripled its earnings per share and dividends. With the growth of its business, sales reached $3.2 billion in 2008 from $1.8 billion in 1999. As of March 31, 2009, McCormick shareholders have enjoyed an annual total shareholder return of 10% for the past 10 years, compared to a 4% return for the S&P 500 Food Group and a 3% decline in the broader S&P 500 Stock Index.

This NYSE event coincides with the beginning of the 2009 grilling season. McCormick’s Grill Mates® brand is the U.S. leader in grilling seasoning, fueled by consumer favorites such as our Montreal Steak Seasoning and the introduction of on-trend products such as Mojito Lime marinade. Grill Mates’ line of professional-grade grilling products let grillers “Master the Flame. Master the Flavor.” In addition to Grill Mates, the Company now owns the leading brand of wet marinades as a result of its acquisition of Lawry’s® in August 2008. With a splash of real fruit juice, Lawry’s marinades add outstanding flavor to chicken, meat, vegetables or fish in just minutes.

Stated Alan D. Wilson, Chairman, President and CEO, “Behind this success is a strong portfolio of leading brands, a proven growth strategy and the commitment of our employees around the world. We have a passion for flavor. At the grill, in the kitchen or on the go, consumers turn to McCormick to add great taste to all types of food.”

McCORMICK & COMPANY RECALLS LAWRY'S FAJITAS SPICES & SEASONINGS PACKAGES DUE TO UNLABELED MILK INGREDIENTS

04/24/2009

SPARKS, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 24, 2009-- McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE:MKC) has announced a voluntary recall of Lawry’s® Fajitas Spices & Seasonings packages with UPC Code 2150022500 and a “best if used by” date of OCT0110PX62, sold under the Lawry’s brand. Lawry’s Fajitas Spices & Seasonings packages with this date code contain undeclared milk ingredients. People who have allergies to milk run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The Lawry’s Fajitas Spices & Seasonings packages were distributed to grocery stores nationally beginning on October 17, 2008. The product is available in 1.27 oz. pouches, and the date code is found printed in black on the back, bottom center of the pouch. The “best if used by” date of OCT0110PX62 is the only date code affected by the recall.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product was mispackaged and as a result the ingredient statement on the package did not list milk as an ingredient.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date. No other Lawry’s products are involved in this recall.

All grocery outlets that sell Lawry’s Fajitas Spices & Seasonings packages have been notified to remove the affected product (UPC Code 2150022500 and a “best if used by” date of OCT0110PX62) from their shelves immediately. Consumers do not need to return the product to the store where it was purchased. Instead, consumers are urged to contact Lawry’s Consumer Affairs team at 1-800-9-LAWRYS (1-800-952-9797), weekdays from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM, or weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) for a replacement or full refund, as well as instructions on what to do with the product.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration. The company is also issuing an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network.

McCORMICK AND CONSTELLATION ENERGY CELEBRATE COMPLETION OF SOLAR POWER INSTALLATION

01/30/2009

HUNT VALLEY, MD, JANUARY 30 - Representatives from McCormick and Company, Inc. [NYSE: MKC], Constellation Energy [NYSE: CEG] and state and local government joined together recently to recognize the completion of one of the largest solar power installations in Maryland.

A celebration was held in McCormick’s Hunt Valley Distribution Center on January 21 to recognize the completion of a project that brought solar power to the roofs of that building and the adjacent McCormick Spice Mill. The project was performed by Constellation Energy’s Projects & Services Group and resulted in the installation of 2,100 Solar World 175 watt crystalline solar panels and 92,000 square feet of lightweight, flexible thin-film photovoltaic material. The system is expected to generate approximately one megawatt of electricity supplying energy equivalent to the electricity used by about 110 homes in a year. It is estimated that McCormick’s electricity costs for these buildings will be reduced by approximately 30 percent in the first year alone, and the electricity produced by the system will reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing about 150 vehicles from the road annually.

“We at McCormick are excited by this project because it is one of our most visible sustainability projects to date, but I’m proud to say that our commitment to the environment goes back many, many years,” said McCormick President and CEO Alan Wilson. “These solar panels provide renewable energy, reduce greenhouse gases within the community and provide McCormick with energy cost savings -- the classic win-win. We are an agriculturally-based business and are mindful of the environment and take measures to preserve and protect those resources.”

Greg Jarosinski, president and CEO of Constellation Energy’s Projects and Services Group, also offered remarks at the celebration.

“This project is an example of the right forces coming together at the right time to address the issues of energy and environment, and doing it in a way that makes economic sense,” Jarosinski remarked.

Others who addressed the gathering included Malcolm Woolf, Director of the Maryland Energy Administration; David Iannucci, Executive Director of the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development, and David Carroll, Director of the Baltimore County Office of Sustainability.
